Yalla is how the Gulf says let’s go. It’s the name on our first ball, and the only instruction you need when the tube cracks open.

Listed by the FIP. Next to the names you know.

Every ball used in FIP events, Premier Padel and the CUPRA FIP Tour has to pass the federation’s lab test first. The AIFA Yalla Ball passed on 3 December 2025. Its approval runs to December 2027.

Take it apart.

  1. Roll it over. One sealed sphere of felt. Turn it in your hand and the white seam runs all the way round.
  2. Peel the felt. Two dog-bone panels of wool and nylon, cut to interlock like a baseball cover and glued round the core. AIFA on one, ايفا on the other.
  3. Open the core. Rockrubber, hollow and pressurised. The wall gives 0.56–0.74 cm under load and springs straight back. The air inside is the bounce.
  4. Put it back. Rubber, air, felt. That’s the whole ball, and every one answers to the same five numbers.

Speak padel.

Six shots you’ll hear called on every court. Pick one and watch a Yalla play it, glass and all.

Bandeja

The overhead you play with slice to keep your place at the net. Not a smash: it lands deep and dies off their back glass, so they can’t attack it.

Víbora

The bandeja’s nastier cousin, “the viper”. More pace and side-spin, so it skids low off the glass and is hard to dig out.

Por tres

A flat smash hit so hard it bounces up and out over the 3 m wall. Point over before anyone can chase it.

Globo

The lob. Up over the pair at the net and deep, so they have to turn and chase it off their back glass. In padel the lob is an attacking shot.

Bajada

Their lob gets over you and comes off your back glass high. Let it come down, then attack it on the way down.

Chiquita

A soft ball dipped at the feet of the players at the net. It pulls them out of shape and opens the court.

On the shelf at 24 clubs in South Africa and Zambia.

And 20 more in the UAE, where it was born. Buy a tube at the club, or a box online.
